When you create a Pintu Web3 Wallet, the private key will be divided into two parts: the user key share, securely stored on your smartphone, and the Pintu key share, securely stored on Pintu&rsquo;s server.



The user key share is then encrypted to generate an encrypted user key share, which is stored on the Pintu server as a backup file.



To access the encrypted user key share, the Pintu system generates a user encryption key, which is stored as a backup file in your cloud service (Google Drive or iCloud). With this system, you have complete access to your assets, and no other party, including Pintu, can access them. This is because Pintu does not possess a user encryption key that you store privately.



When you initiate a transaction, you first sign it with your key share, and then Pintu&rsquo;s key share automatically signs it based on your instructions.



Pintu cannot access or execute transactions in your wallet without your authorization. This is because no single party can access the entire private key. Even if someone gains access to one key share, he would still require authorization from the other key share holders to conduct transactions from your wallet.

How does MPC wallet work?

Pintu Web3 Wallet operates as a non-custodial MPC wallet, granting users ownership of their key share and full authority over their assets. Pintu retains a part of the user&rsquo;s key share, which is only accessible with the user&rsquo;s consent, ensuring that Pintu cannot access the user&rsquo;s assets. 



So, what should you do if you lose your key share? 



You might lose your key share when uninstalling the Pintu app or if you misplace your smartphone. 



However, you can recover your wallet if you have access to the cloud backup associated with your initial setup of the Pintu Web3 Wallet (via email and password). To initiate the recovery process, open the Pintu app and navigate to the Pintu Web3 page. Then, simply follow the provided instructions. 



The same recovery process applies if you happen to lose your smartphone. However, in the Beta version, Pintu only supports a single backup location (Google Drive or iCloud). Consequently, wallet recovery is limited to the same device operating system (Android or iOS) that was used for the initial backup.



&#128161; Private Key Sharing involves dividing a crypto wallet&rsquo;s private keys into multiple parts and distributing them among various trusted entities. This approach enhances security by mitigating the risk associated with a single point of failure and engaging multiple parties in the management of private keys.

What should I do if I lost my key share?

As long as you have access to the Pintu app on the same smartphone, all of your assets will be secure even if you lose your cloud backup. 



If you lose your cloud backup (files in the cloud are deleted) but still have access to the same cloud service and smartphone, Pintu will create a new backup copy of the files to ensure the safety of your assets. You can do this by visiting Pintu Web3 on the Pintu app and following the instructions. 



In the Beta version, you can recover your wallet using the same smartphone system (Android or iOS) that you used when backing up your files. Therefore, make sure not to delete backup files on cloud services and avoid losing your smartphone.

What if I lose my cloud backup? Will I lose my assets permanently?

In the MPC system used by Pintu Web3 Wallet, the Pintu server stores part of your encrypted key. Simultaneously, your smartphone&rsquo;s cloud storage, such as Google Drive or iCloud, stores the decryption key for that file (cloud backup file). 



If you accidentally delete the cloud backup file, you can still recover your wallet as long as you have access to the cloud service. 



To recover your wallet, simply open the Pintu app, navigate to the Web3 page, and follow the provided instructions. By doing so, Pintu will generate a new encrypted file, rendering your Pintu Web3 Wallet accessible once more. 



If you lose access to the cloud service that was originally used to create your web3 wallet (due to forgotten email and password), you can use a similar alternative cloud service (Google Drive or iCloud) to generate a new encrypted file. This can be done assuming you still use the same smartphone and have not uninstalled the Pintu app.

What should I do if I accidentally delete my cloud backup?

How to transfer assets from other wallet to Pintu Web3 Wallet

If your token balance doesn&rsquo;t show up, consider taking the following steps: 



1. Ensure that your internet connection is stable. An unstable connection can prevent your token balance from updating. 



2. Try refreshing your account by logging out and then logging back in. 



3. You can add tokens by turning on the toggle button on the selected token in &lsquo;Manage tokens&rsquo;. 



4. Verify your token balance by copying your wallet address and pasting it into a blockchain explorer. For example, you can use Etherscan to asses information on the Ethereum blockchain, Polygonscan for the Polygon blockchain, or Bscscan for the BNB Chain. 



5. If the balance shown in the blockchain explorer differs from what you see in your Pintu Web3 Wallet, don&rsquo;t hesitate to contact Pintu customer support for assistance.

Why my token balance is not showing on my wallet?

1. On the Web3 page, click &lsquo;Manage tokens&rsquo; at the bottom of the page. 



2. Select the tokens you want to display. 



3. Turn on the toggle button to display the token 



4. The selected tokens have been added to the token list.

How to show tokens

1. On the Web3 page, click &lsquo;Manage tokens&rsquo; at the bottom of the page. 



2. Select the tokens that you want to hide. 



3. Turn off the toggle button to hide the token. 



4. The selected tokens are no longer on the token list.

How to hide a token

If you do not see your tokens in your wallet, please follow these steps to add them as a custom token.

To see the token&rsquo;s contract address, visit the token&rsquo;s official website or a crypto data aggregator such as Coingecko or Coinmarketcap. The token&rsquo;s contract address is in alphanumeric form. For example, the contract address of the HOLO (HOT) token is 0x6c6ee5e31d828de241282b9606c8e98ea48526e2.

Why don’t I see the token I bought in my wallet?

Blockchain fees are fees paid to blockchain network operators (validators) for confirming transactions on the blockchain. Blockchain fees are also known as gas fees. 



The specific token used for blockchain fees varies depending on the blockchain network. For example, the blockchain fee for transactions on the Ethereum blockchain is ETH. 



To check the blockchain fee for a transaction on Pintu:

<li>A summary page will appear, providing an overview of the transaction details and blockchain fee options. </li>

To speed up the processing of your transaction, choose a higher blockchain fee. Validators will give priority to transactions with higher fees, so yours will be processed sooner.

What are blockchain fees?

Yes, you still need to pay blockchain fees because validators need to confirm the transaction on the blockchain regardless of whether it succeeds or fails. 



The blockchain fee is non-refundable, as it serves as compensation for the validator who verifies the transaction on the blockchain. 



On the Ethereum network, users are required to pay blockchain fees (gas fees) for computations performed during transaction execution, interactions with smart contracts, and various other activities on the blockchain.

Do I need to pay network fees for cancelled/failed transactions?

If you&rsquo;ve accidentally sent your crypto assets to an incorrect address, and you&rsquo;re not familiar with the owner of that wallet address, unfortunately, there are no available actions to recover your crypto assets. 



It is because blockchain transactions are immutable, and they cannot be reversed or altered. Once you&rsquo;ve sent crypto assets to an incorrect wallet address, no central authority or third party has the ability to void or retrieve the transaction.

If I enter the wrong address, can I get my money back?

A decentralized application (dApp) is an application that runs on a blockchain network and uses smart contracts to store all application programming. To connect with a dApp, you need a web3 wallet, such as Pintu Web3 Wallet.

Connecting your dApp to the Pintu Web3 Wallet is straightforward and can be done through two convenient methods: scanning the QR code and copying the dApp URL.

<li>Once connected to the WalletConnect camera, paste the URL on the top right of the screen.</li>



<li>Click &lsquo;Connect&rsquo; to establish the connection between Pintu Web3 Wallet and the dApp platform.</li>



<li>Confirm the connection with FaceID or input PIN.</li>



<li>Success! You have successfully connected to the dApp.</li>

How to access dApp using Pintu

To make various transactions on dApps, including swaps, buying and selling, and staking tokens, you simply need to connect your Pintu Web3 Wallet with dApps via WalletConnect. 



To connect your wallet with the dApp, follow these steps: 



1. Visit the dApp website on your laptop or mobile browser, for example <a href="https://pancakeswap.finance/">Pancakeswap</a>. 



2. On the top right of the site, click &lsquo;Connect Wallet&rsquo;. 



3. Choose &lsquo;WalletConnect,&rsquo; and a QR code will be displayed. 



4. Open the Web3 page on your Pintu account and scan the QR code using &lsquo;WalletConnect&rsquo;. 



5. As an alternative, you can use your smartphone to copy the dApp URL on the top right of the QR code and then paste it into the WalletConnect camera on the Pintu Web3 Wallet. 



6. Succes! Your Pintu Web3 Wallet is now connected to the dApp. 



Once your wallet is connected to the dApp, you can transact on its available features.

How to transact on dApps using Pintu Web3 Wallet

WalletConnect is a protocol that allows you to connect your Pintu Web3 Wallet to decentralized applications (dApps) to Pintu Web3 Wallet. 



It ensures a secure connection between Pintu Web3 Wallet and dApps via QR code or URL. It aims to increase the security and convenience of interacting with dApps.

What is WalletConnect?

Yes, it is safe. With a direct connection between the dApp and Pintu Web3 Wallet, WalletConnect does not store your private key. 



WalletConnect also ensures that you sign transactions on the Pintu Web3 Wallet first before they are sent to the dApp. WalletConnect is simply a bridge between dApps and the Pintu Web3 Wallet. 



In other words, your crypto assets cannot be accessed by anyone without your permission.

Is WalletConnect safe?

Yes. Pintu Web3 Wallet supports NFT functionalities for managing, storing, and transferring NFTs. You can also trade NFTs on various NFT marketplaces that are available on multiple blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, and Arbitrum. Your NFT collection will be displayed under the &lsquo;NFT&rsquo; tab.

Does Pintu Web3 Wallet support NFTs?

The following is how to send assets from Pintu Web3 Wallet to other wallets (Metamask mobile), using ETH on the Ethereum blockchain as an example:

<li>Gas limit: The gas limit is the maximum number of gas units you specify to use in a single transaction. It determines how complex or large a transaction you can make.</li>
